Independent Construction actively recruits Construction Management and Civil Engineering graduates from colleges throughout the Western United States. Our diverse team of employees comes from State, U.C., and private colleges. We also recruit and employ from the vast Community College system and various adult education trade schools.
Typical Construction Management and Engineering graduates start their careers in either an operations or estimating position. Career paths in operations may lead to project engineering and project management. Estimating careers may lead to senior estimating or business development positions.
Independent Construction also recruits business professionals to work in our accounting department. Careers in accounting include accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and risk management.
Internships
In order to attract the best college graduates, Independent Construction has developed a year-round paid internship program for Civil Engineering and Construction Management students. This 3 or 6 month program allows students to apply their text-book knowledge to the real construction world. Students are assigned a field or estimating department position, and are encouraged to take on as much as they feel comfortable. Students will gain valuable knowledge and confidence in their chosen field of study.
